College of Marin President David Wain Coon just got a raise. At a Board of Trustees meeting on April 16, Diana Conti, Chair of the President Evaluation Committee, recommended approval for a new four-year contract for the president, which increases his base salary by $27,000. This raises his salary to $330,000. The contract also includes an annual five-percent increase in salary, a supplemental retirement account contribution by the district of $20,000, and a vehicle and expense allowance of $850 per month.

The contract was unanimously approved.

No board members expressed concern or questions in response to this recommendation. Diana Conti and other trustees acknowledged the progress College of Marin has seen during Wain Coon's eight years as president.

President Wain Coon’s current contract expires in June 2019.

Also at the meeting, 12 faculty members were acknowledged for their recently granted tenure: James Tipton, Trine Miller, Stephanie Wells, Kevin Muller, James Stopher, Rachel Klein, Troy Stevenson, Tina Christensen, Maria Coulson, Steve Berringer, Javier Urena and Nancy Willet were recognized.
